The DIY 3D printed e-shifter solution to cure error 44 Enjoy the ride again
3D printed shifter
Following Vanmoof’s bankruptcy and parts scarcity, we addressed the unreliable “E-Shifter” by transitioning to manual shifting, using a 3D-printed PLA lever. This process allowed for quick iterations and preserved the wheel gear hub’s integrity. This 3D-printed shifter serves as a straightforward replacement for your malfunctioning e-shifter, requiring minimal adjustments to your bike. If you ever decide to return to electronic shifting, the process is easily reversible by swapping components.
Rotary shifter
To enhance control over the 3D printed shifter, we’ve integrated a rotary shifter onto the handlebars. This method of shifting has been proven to offer a natural and intuitive experience, ensuring you have complete control over your bike’s gears. Say goodbye to the anxiety of unexpected clattering noises when you apply extra pedal force. With manual shifting, you’ll have the power to respond in real-time situations, whether it’s catching that green light or effortlessly passing a car. Reconnect with the pure delight of cycling, where every shift is at your fingertips.
